Long queue at the time of visit. Quite popular among tourists bound for and inbound from Miyajima island. The eel rice topping was very good.

"one hour wait" may very well be shorter than that.. don't wander off, just wait around for your turn, lest you lose your place in the queue.

I visited at 10 am and at that time, only we can choose is Bento's size. Tea is included. Take out service is also okay. If you are going to Miyazima after here, I recommend take the Bento out and eat other foods in Miyazima. It made me full.

Their dish is not super special but they are faithful to the basics!! Recommend to go if you want to taste traditional unagi don! Their waiting time can be super long depends on the time you go.

Best eel rice I ate so far. I prefer this type of plain grilling style. No or very little sauce on the eel so you can taste the freshness of eel with rice directly. A lot of locals visiting this restaurant.

It's a small restaurant so you may expect to queue for table if you go at peak hours. The eel is even better than expect!

Flavor : good but commonService : they are always busy. You should not expect they treat you friendly.Price : big=2700, middle=2100, small=(forgot). They go up in price because they are famous to tourist.

I visit the restaurant on Sat lunchtime, need to wait 30 mins or above for having lunch in restaurant. Taste is good, and Chinese, English menu are provided in the restaurant.

Good restaurant and the owner and his staff are so friendly. Grilled eel and fried oyster rice bowl is great.

Food is good. I chose takeaway which is cheaper than eating in. If I recall correctly, it is 1800yen for a small takeaway portion. I don’t find their service staff that friendly or helpful on that day. It was sunny and she gestured me to wait outside while they have another empty space next door with seats and no customers. I went into that space to wait instead.

Need waiting an hour when getting there at around 11 am. Just bought takeout (bento) at half price (from 2000 to 1000 yen) by using 'Visit Hiroshima Tourist Pass' . Eel rice bento not bad

BBQ sea eel with rice. Super tasty. Very good meat texture. Meaning top quality eel used. Outsider sometimes mixed up anago and unagi. This shop is anago, sea eel. Unagi is freshwater eel. Unagi is much more pricey than anago but not necessarily more tasty.

This place has been around since 1897! Amazing anago-meshi (eel with rice). Well worth the wait!

Very delicious anagomeshi dish. My friend said it's the best in Hiroshima. That was the only one I tried in the city, though. I will surely want to try the other restaurants, but I think I will also go back to this one.

pricy but what else could you expect? its unagi! smells amazing, and tastes good as well. the moment you get off the train at the station, all you'll smell is unagi!
